The Best Mods from Dark Souls

FromSoftware action RPG fans have a lot to look forward to. Their latest upcoming game, Elden Ring, looks more exciting than ever – especially after recent online testing and gameplay previews.

Much of the gameplay in Elden Ring appears to be similar to that of Dark Souls 3, which is good news for fans of that title. Elden Ring features many mods that change the gameplay on a large scale, giving players many options and providing an intense level of challenge.

Convergence

Convergence

While this mod has its fair share of boss rework, it goes even further by adding completely new enemies with unique movement sets. You can recognize some of these move sets as original from Sekiro, which gives players the opportunity to fight familiar enemies in even more unique and interesting ways. This goes hand-in-hand with the new magical and graphical changes introduced by Convergence, giving players a more unique experience than most mods.

Dark Souls 2 – Augur of Darkness

Augur of Darkness is actually a pretty simple mod. It is very lightweight compared to other mods, and it does most of its job by regrouping enemies. This mod allows players to use entire sets of enemy and boss movements without the need for cheat engines or debug menus, by implanting those movement sets into player-compatible weapons. Champion’s Ashes is a large scale mod very similar to Cinders that adds new mechanics like feints and power stances. Archthrones is a promising new mod that remakes the bosses and world of Dark Souls 3 to create a completely new game. On the other hand, Call of the Abyss is a mod currently in alpha phase in which players will fight in a dark world with bosses and enemies straight from Bloodborne.

Dark Souls – Remastest

Dark Souls Remastest is probably the craziest mod of them all. What started out as a simple transfer of Halo maps has turned into an incredible rebalancing of the game, in which all the mechanics and new abilities that change the game have been added. It has been recently updated to include new movement options that will go a long way when Elden Ring comes out. Not to mention the addition of Halo-style firearms and huge maps to explore.

Cinders

Cinders

Cinders gives players hundreds of new options around which to focus their playstyle. There aren’t many new enemies here; many of the «new bosses» are reworked versions of old bosses with new effects. But Cinders provides players with a variety of equipment items that really change the way they play, even taking some weapons from other FromSoftware games like Bloodborne. Combine this with new classes, arenas full of enemies, and
